This page is a direct copy from the subject outline. I don't always have my subject outline where I have my computer, so I thought it may help others too if I put it on a page of its own. We can easily delete it later.
I have added (in RED) a few notes I made when ABB discussed this at the last block. They help me to understand what's expected. Mandy
Assessment Task 2: Learning Community Design
Due: Part I – Friday, 29th May, 2009
(Group presentations in block class Sat 23rd May)
Part II – Friday, 5th June, 2009
Weighting: Part I – 20%
Part II – 25 %
Part I: Learning Community Design (Group task)
In small groups you will be required to integrate the experiences, models and concepts from the subject to design a model for an e-Learning community.
The design will outline the following sections:
• A brief outline of the key features of the e-Learning community
• A justification for considering the proposed e-Learning community as a collective learning opportunity (a compelling rationale)
• Educational rationale for the design elements, informed by your experiences in communities and readings in this subject
• A storyboard or blueprint that represents the e-Learning community design in sufficient detail that the structure and functions are clearly apparent. (as you would present to a management team - high level overview, no programming detail)
The group work component will be presented on wiki where it will be explicit which aspects of work each group participant has contributed to. Written academic standards, including appropriate referencing (UTS Harvard style and hyperlinks to online works); clear and logical development of ideas and argument; appropriate language style and; grammatical and spelling accuracy will be expected (we have 15 minutes to present it in block on 23 May then one week to tidy it up and submit it)
